The Show was set by Chanel inside an art fair. Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into a vast white gallery filled with seventy-five Chanel-inflected works of art — the clothes themselves as a play of deconstruction, collage, trompe l’oeil and bricolage. Even the tweeds were pushed beyond their usual definition, rebuilt into hybrids that still read unmistakably Chanel.

• Crafted from exquisite bouclé tweed in a noble silver-grey shade

• The iconic four-pocket silhouette keeps the jacket immediately recognisable as Chanel

• A vivid pink-and-blue braided trim traces the lapels, front, pockets, cuffs and hem — the braid brings exactly the right amount of colour: graphic enough to feel contemporary, controlled enough not to compete with the tweed

• A discreet CC logo charm at the side provides the final House signature

• Inside, the jacket is finished with tonal silk lining

• The traditional chain link at the interior hem restores the familiar weight and balance beneath the more experimental surface treatment
