For Resort 2018, Lagerfeld did something more interesting than simply “go Greek.”
He treated antiquity as a visual vocabulary: laurel, coins, classical relief, drapery and gold, then translated those elements into modern Chanel clothes.
The result was ancient Greece with the archaeology removed and the graphic intelligence left intact.

• Crafted from refined ivory–ecru knit, soft in handle but substantial enough to hold the embroidered surface cleanly

• The base shade sits between warm ivory, chalk and pale cream, giving the metallic work maximum luminosity

• CC logo medallions and camellia-inspired forms are integrated into the composition rather than placed as isolated logos

• The metallic leaves recall the collection’s laurel vocabulary, while the scrolling lines give the embroidery the rhythm of antique ornament

• The embellishment becomes denser toward the lower body and sleeves, creating a visual progression rather than an all-over repeat

• Ribbed neckline, cuffs and hem keep the silhouette crisp and wearable
