— Paris / Rome was Lagerfeld’s love letter to cinema, but thankfully not the sentimental kind. He staged Paris inside Cinecittà and built the collection around that strange double exposure: French polish seen through an Italian film set, Chanel classicism passing through the grain of black-and-white cinema

This suit belongs squarely to that world. The jacket and trousers are cut from one of the collection’s most recognisable tweeds — intricate, graphic, and almost cinematic in the way the surface keeps changing with light.

• Crafted from exquisitely woven Lesage tweed in a complex palette of beige, charcoal, ink blue, ivory, rust, copper and muted stone

• Warm flashes of rust and copper interrupt the darker base, giving the textile depth without making it overtly colourful

• Gold-tone jewel CC buttons punctuate the front and pockets, bringing warmth against the cooler tweed

• The jacket is framed with the collection’s distinctive cassette-inspired trim, a braided border that gives the edges a graphic, almost reel-like rhythm

• The four-pocket construction keeps the jacket firmly inside the Chanel vocabulary

• Both pieces are finished with tonal silk lining, preserving a smooth interior against the heavily textured outer weave
