For Resort 2016, Lagerfeld took Chanel to Seoul and turned the collection into one of his most exuberant cultural collisions: K-pop colour, traditional Korean dress, graphic geometry, braiding, patchwork and very proper little jackets all sharing the same stage.

• Crafted from signature Chanel tweed in a saturated fuchsia shade, woven with lighter pink threads that give the surface depth rather than flat colour

• The checked weave keeps the colour lively, with small tonal shifts appearing as the jacket moves

• CC logo buttons with Korean-inspired detailing punctuate the front and cuffs

• The shoulder tabs add a subtle uniform reference, sharpening what might otherwise have been a straightforward pink blazer

• Inside, the jacket is finished with tonal silk lining; traditional chain link at the interior hem gives the lower edge its characteristic Chanel balance
