  Paris–Shanghai was one of Lagerfeld’s most cinematic fantasies: a city imagined through old Shanghai glamour, qipao lines, Mao uniforms, lacquered surfaces, chinoiserie, military references, and the electric modern skyline outside.

~ This jacket is that idea in its sharpest form: a black leather biker stripped of biker cliché, then rebuilt through Chanel and Shanghai.

• Crafted from exquisite black leather, smooth, dense and softly lustrous

• The surface is embellished with sculpted leather camellias, worked directly into the jacket rather than applied as separate ornament

• Large floral forms travel across the front and cuffs, creating relief without interrupting the monochrome black surface

• The camellia, one of Chanel’s most established emblems, is given a darker, more architectural treatment here

• CC logo jewel buttons with dragon motifs punctuate the asymmetric front, bringing the collection’s Shanghai vocabulary into the hardware

• The front construction is slightly off-centre, giving the jacket a subtle biker attitude without making it aggressively utilitarian
